Technical Writer
ABOUT THE TEAM:
The Developer Experience (DevX) team supports customers integrating and using our platform. The team is responsible for the product docs, developer docs, in-product UX copy, and the technical infrastructure behind the docs platform. Our primary audience spans two groups: business users operating the product and backend engineers integrating our APIs.
Your primary mission is to contribute to and help maintain our end-user and developer documentation, API references, and UX copy. You will write new content to keep pace with the product's evolution and optimize existing content to make it more readable and maintainable. You will also have the opportunity to shape how we manage technical documentation across the company.
We’re seeking a professional based in Berlin.
ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:
- Treat the docs as a product: Own the architecture of your sections of the docs, maintain the content roadmap, prioritize backlog requests from cross-functional teams, and track metrics/feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
- Deliver end-user and API documentation: Write, edit, and maintain clear API references, integration guides, and end-user documentation using OpenAPI Specifications, Markdown, and static site tools.
- Craft in-product UX copy: Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Product Managers to write intuitive, clear microcopy for our product’s UI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with engineers, product managers, and product designers to translate complex software architecture into accessible, actionable guidance.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Exceptional English communication skills to deliver precise documentation and collaborate effectively during agile ceremonies and cross-functional workshops
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, developer relations, or UX copy
- Technical literacy, including a solid grasp of APIs (REST/OpenAPI) or SDKs
- Product-oriented mindset to manage your own documentation backlog, and analyze key performance metrics based on developer feedback
- Expertise in crafting concise in-product microcopy that optimizes user workflows and reduces friction
- In-depth understanding of modern documentation strategies, such as docs-as-code, minimalism, and topic-oriented, user-centric writing
- Experience with our tool stack or equivalent, including Git, GitHub, Visual Studio Code, Docusaurus, Scalar, and Figma
- 120+ team of engineers, product managers and product designers in Berlin
- Leaders with 8+ years of experience building our promotions engine
